We are currently seeking a bioinformatics analyst to use RNA sequencing data for development of quality control assays for human pluripotent stem cells and their derivatives. This position will play a central role in developing and implementing these assays, and demonstrating that they are rigorous and effective for the QC of potential human therapeutics related to induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) derived dopaminergic progenitor cells in a first-in-human clinical trial for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease sponsored by Aspen Neuroscience, Inc. This newly created role reports to the Director of Bioinformatics.
Essential Qualifications and Skills required:
A record of productive research, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A strong background in biology and NGS bioinformatics and related fields is highly desirable.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
Programming/scripting skills required in R, Python, bash shell and a familiarity with academic computing environments (i.e. linux clusters, HPC).
